University Placements
The overwhelming majority of our A level students advance to university upon completing their studies at the college. These students gained places on an eclectic mix of courses spanning a broad range of subject areas.
Ultimately, our students are successful in securing their preferred courses at top-ranking universities because they attain good A level grades. However, we recognise that university entrance is a competitive process and, from the moment A level students join the college, we support and guide them through the process. Our AS level students attend university admission seminars throughout each term of the lower sixth. For students transferring to the college for their upper-sixth studies, or for those joining èßäAV to retake their A levels, discussions about university entrance and application procedures begin in earnest during the initial student interview. Prior to submitting a UCAS application form, each student has a series of 1:1 meetings with his or her Personal Tutor to finalise course choices and the Personal Statement. Once offers start to come through, Personal Tutors assist students in deciding which offers they should accept, and which they should decline.
We have considerable experience of the difficulties faced by students who are applying for some of the more competitive courses such as Dentistry, Law, Medicine and Veterinary Science. Regardless of course choice, we provide a mock interview service for all those students who are called to interview. We also offer specialist preparation for those students who are confronted with university entrance tests such as BMAT, LNAT and UCAT.
